It is a joyous atmosphere in the Ferrari F1 team right now. The Italian team has made a successful start to the 2022 title challenge by winning the first race and finishing second and 3rd in the second race. They are currently leading the drivers’ championship courtesy of Charles Leclerc and also the constructors’ championship.

There is such a happy vibe in the team right now that even the top bosses are enjoying it. Championship leader Leclerc took to social media to share Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto singing on his way to the track in Australia.

It is indeed a rare sight to see the Italian in such a cheerful mood outside of the track, as he is often perceived as a reserved individual.
Charles Leclerc worried for Ferrari ahead of the Australian GP
The Monegasque driver mentioned that the prancing horses might not be the fastest car around the Albert Park circuit. There have been some significant changes made to the track since F1 last raced here in 2019.
The high-speed corners, and 4 DRS zones will provide an edge to their rivals, Red Bull. “Overall, I think the track characteristics here are not fitting very well with [our car],” said Leclerc.

“Everything is to play for, and I still think we will be in the mix; it will still be very close. It is not like it is going to be a big gap, so if we do the perfect weekend, anything is possible,” added Charles.

The high-speed corners and DRS zones were a weakness for the Italian team at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Both Sainz and Leclerc had a big disadvantage as compared to the Red Bull drivers at the Jeddah Corniche circuit.

The Ferrari driver would hope that they can be a little more competitive in these sequence of corners against their arrivals. It would also be interesting to see if the Italian team would be bringing any new upgrades to their car in Australia.
But it is fantastic to see everyone so happy after a dismal couple of years for the Italian team in F1.
