A crucial season awaits the leading constructors’ world champion, Scuderia Ferrari, as they look to break the chain of poor performances that kindled in 2020. There was hardly any success that the Reds were able to cherish that season and at one point, they almost had nothing to lose apart from their long-held legacy in the sport.

Hence, since then, Ferrari have been working towards returning to winning ways by 2022, the year that is set to witness a massive turnaround in regulations. And now, here we stand, barely weeks away from the commencement of the much-hyped season, with the Maranello outfit beginning to bring about exciting updates on their challenger, the F1-75.

Only days back, Ferrari affirmed that the covers would come off the F1-75 on February 22 amid rumors that the livery might replicate their one-off livery in Mugello 2020. Hence, with the car launch excitement still fresh, here’s yet another update from the Reds.

On Friday, Ferrari posted a short clip on YouTube that had the recording of their engine fire-up. And while the audio played in the background, the video had the viewers staring into the eyes of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.

Of course, unlike other F1 engine manufacturers, this particular fire-up is a massive deal for Ferrari, as they had to re-design their entire unit, and also had to take a few gambles along the way. Hence, it will be a nail-biting start for the whole of Maranello, heading into the 2022 season.

Ferrari hit the low point in 2020 and they’ve since had no way to go but up. So, following a rather bitter-sweet 2021 season, comprising a handful of pole positions and podiums, it is time for them to take their performance up a notch to challenge for race victories.

Of course, it’s a huge ask, considering the level at which Mercedes and Red Bull stand at the moment. Nevertheless, one can never count Ferrari out of anything and history suggests the same too! Ferrari’s new engine gave away positive feedback last year from the Italian GP to the Abu Dhabi GP.

The gain in performance was quite evident too, as the update was what saved them from misery and helped them defeat McLaren in the constructors’ battle for P3. So, with such a spurt in pace, there is no denying that the Reds will carry a major threat to the two top-field teams, Mercedes and Red Bull.
