Charles Leclerc bringing 312T4 back to the future
Leclerc sat in the same Ferrari 312T4, that Gilles Villeneuve once drove. With this car, Ferrari won three drivers’ and four constructors’ titles. You can just revel in the incredible sound of a flat-12 engine on this 575 kgs piece of machinery, which is exactly what the Ferrari 312T4 houses.
Making its debut in South Africa back in 1979, Villeneuve’s 312T4 still drives like the old days. Or so we think! We’ll have to ask Charles to be sure.
However, driving this car, Charles is bringing the words of his team principal to life. “If we look at the Tifosi today, certainly Charles Leclerc is reflecting that Gilles Villeneuve type of spirit. And no doubt that will become even more true when he will start winning championships!” said Binotto back in 2021.
