Carlos Sainz has showcased some impressive performances this season. But his failure in the last two races gave rise to many doubts about the Spaniard. Despite that, Sainz is among the fan favorites.

The Spaniard is going through a tough time, as he had to retire not only in Melbourne but also in Imola. It would be safe to assume that Sainz must have been sad about how the race turned out for him at Imola, which was also a home Grand Prix for his team, Ferrari.

However, there are fans who still support Carlos Sainz even when he’s not scoring points. Recently, a video went viral where the Ferrari driver encountered two young fans. Those kids also got cards with beautiful words written on them to encourage the Spaniard. Further, they hugged Sainz, and it cheered the Ferrari man.

F1 Fans react to the kids’ gesture for Carlos Sainz

As soon as the video went viral on the internet. F1 fans from around the globe took to Twitter to show their emotion. The kids and their encouraging gestures toward Carlos Sainz was touching for everyone to watch. Fans were happy to see that Sainz was receiving so much love and respect after joining the Prancing Horse.

Pleased to see the video, a fan wrote, “I’m not crying I just got a fountain.”

Sainz on Daniel Ricciardo’s apology

After the disappointing Melbourne race, Sainz was looking forward to the Emilia Romagna GP, as it was a home race for his F1 team. He even got a new power unit for the Imola race. In addition, Sainz qualified P4, giving him a great starting position and a chance to even fight for the podium.

However, all his hopes crashed after he contacted the McLaren driver, Daniel Ricciardo, after turn 1 of the first lap. As a result, Sainz went off the track and beached is car into the gravel while Ricciardo managed to get back on track but finished the race last.

After the race, the Honey Badger went to the Ferrari HQ and requested to meet the Spaniard. As the Aussie wanted to personally apologize for ruining Sainz’s race. Ricciardo’s personality and the gesture melted the Ferrari driver.

Carlos commented on Ricciardo’s gesture by saying, “As a sportsman, Daniel is honored that he came to the Ferrari pit box immediately after the race and apologized to me.”
