It is a common feat to spot celebrities on the grid on a race day, as everyone wants to be associated with the pinnacle of motorsport. These stars come out to cheer on their favorite driver and are often spotted with one of the most accomplished drivers on the grid, Lewis Hamilton.

The Brit is a global superstar and is arguably the most famous driver in the sport. His warm and welcoming nature makes him one of the most popular with fellow celebrities. The duo encountered each other on race day, where car number 44 lined up on pole position with the Briton inside the cockpit. This is where he noticed Cruz as a part of the grid before lights went out and immediately asked his mechanic to move over so he can greet the fellow superstar.

From inside the Mercedes car, Hamilton repeatedly waved at the Spanish actress, but she was engaged in capturing the moment on her smartphone, rather than living it. After multiple attempts, she realized that the F1 multi-time champion was addressing her among all the people on the track.
