Well, it’s safe to say that the Bahrain Grand Prix has really delivered. The Ferrari duo of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were going all guns blazing during the race. But the Spanish driver had a hairy moment in the middle of the race when he almost collide with Williams’ driver Alex Albon.
Sainz was running comfortably in P3 and was defending his position from Red Bull driver Sergio Perez. But suddenly the Williams of Albon came and interrupted the battle and went wheel-to-wheel with Sainz.
Albon was coming out of the pits and did not have the grip and temperature in his tires and almost touched Sainz.

Twitter too was taken aback by the battle and gave their reactions on the platform.
"Oh my god, that guy nearly crashed into me" says Sainz, nearly vulnerable to Albon into Turn 1 as the Thai driver left the pits. Sainz has, erm, previous experience of that – having been the aggressor a few years ago. #F1

Sainz started the race from P3 after missing out on the pole by 0.129s from his teammate Charles Leclerc. But he was happy that he could contend in the battle, as he mentioned he was struggling throughout the weekend.
“It’s been a very difficult weekend for me. I’ve been slow, simple as that. Charles has been doing a much better job than me all weekend, and I have been playing catch-up. Honestly, there’s been points this weekend that I was very far behind, so by the time I hit quali and I was fighting for pole, I was a bit more relieved,” said Sainz.
