WATCH: A Virtual Tour of Fernando Alonso’s Glorious F1 Cars Collection

Fernando Alonso has long been known as one of the greatest drivers to have graced F1. The Spaniard’s best years came in the decade of 2000, but he still had some success with Ferrari in the latter years of his career.

But one thing some may not be aware of is Alonso’s sports complex, called ‘Museo y Circuito Fernando Alonso’ in Oviedo, Spain. The complex houses a go-karting circuit as well as a museum, comprising Alonso’s multiple F1 cars and memorabilia.

Courtesy of the YouTube channel ‘Seen Through Glass,’ we take a look at the machinery present at the museum, albeit from afar. Safe to say, the collection is absolutely stellar, which will certainly leave F1 enthusiasts in amazement and awe.

An initial foray into the first segment sees Alonso’s pre-F1 material, with his junior-level cars, racesuits, helmets, and trophies. Next to it, one can see the Minardi and 2003-04 Renault vehicles with the iconic blue-and-yellow livery that saw the arrival of the Spaniard in the premier division.

The following segment, however, got down to the showcase of the more serious stuff, which included his 2005 and 2006 championship-winning cars with Renault. At a short distance, a platform also contained cars from his second stint with the French team. Although, as history suggests, that was not as fruitful and rewarding as the first.

The museum also has a section of other drivers’ helmets, which includes the likes of Mika Hakkinen, Sebastian Vettel, and Daniel Ricciardo, among many others. Truly, it shows the respect Alonso commands in the F1 community.

The video tour rounded off with a separate collection of Alonso’s Ferrari cars, from his five seasons spent at the Italian motorsport giants. One can recall that Fernando finished runner-up on three occasions, which should have very easily seen him win at least another championship title.

Regardless, the museum truly is a fine piece of work that contains, within itself, most of Alonso’s achievements in the sport. The visual spectacle is proof enough for all Formula 1 fans to make a visit to the complex once in their lifetime.
