Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc is probably having the worst time in his 2022 F1 season. The Monegasque not only lost the fight for the championship, but his chances of finishing P2 in the championship also look bleak. After yet another mediocre performance from him in the sprint in Brazil, former Ferrari driver Felipe Massa opened up on him.

Massa, the Brazilian former F1 star, revealed how he felt about Leclerc in the Sao Paulo post-sprint show. Talking about the current Ferrari star driver, he conveyed, “I expected maybe a little bit better from him today, I don’t know what happened but let’s see what’s gonna happen tomorrow.”

I don’t know, maybe what happened yesterday, he was not in the very great mood today, but I don’t know. I mean, I was expecting a little better from him,” concluded Massa.

Leclerc didn’t have the brightest of days during the qualifying on Friday and the sprint race on Saturday.

While the Monegasque qualified in P10 after another mistake by Ferrari strategists during the qualifying, Saturday’s sprint saw him finish in P6. Even though Leclerc managed to cover up four places, his performance wasn’t enough to convince Felipe Massa.

Leclerc started the year off with two brilliant wins in three races. Some mighty performances by the Ferrari driver at the start of the season made fans believe that he truly has the potential to challenge Max Verstappen for the 2022 Championship.

It was all going well until he faced a series of bad luck, one after the other. Not only has he retired a few times, citing reliability issues in his F1-75, but he has also been subjected to strategy errors by Scuderia Ferrari.
