Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes have been on top of the sport for the past decade. Mercedes produced some incredible cars on Hamilton’s run to seven championship titles. The Brackley outfit outdid themselves for the 2020 season with the W11. The Mercedes 2020 challenger is considered among the fastest the sport has ever seen. However, according to Hamilton’s recent comments, Red Bull RB19 has eclipsed the W11. However, the statement is making Max Verstappen fans call out Hamilton for his “unsportsmanlike” comments.
To put things in perspective, for the second time in the season, the Red Bull men crossed the finish line in first and second. However, Verstappen finished second and started the race from 15th. The Dutchman plowed through the field without letting out a single sweat.

This scenario made the Mercedes man make a concerning admission about the state of RB19 as quoted by the Race. The Brit said that RB19 is “the fastest car I’ve seen compared to the rest. I’ve definitely never seen a car so fast. When we were fast we weren’t that fast.”
Even during the race when Verstappen was passing Hamilton, he did not put up a fight. Why? Because of the obvious difference in pace. There were a few instances in 2022 where the two locked horns, The Brit even took a thinly veiled dig at Verstappen for their 2021 collision. However, in the Saudi Arabian GP, there was no incident between the two because the Brit had no answer for Verstappen’s pace.

However, the post-race comment is making fans point out Hamilton’s hypocrisy on Twitter.
Fans blast Lewis Hamilton for narrow-sighted comments
There is a clear and obvious difference in terms of pace between the Red Bull challenger and the rest of the grid. Hamilton pointed exactly that out. However, some fans feel Hamilton’s exaggeration about the RB19 is unsportsmanlike. Mainly because the Brit’s comment suggests the RB19 needs to be looked at.
We are not sure if the FIA will, but some fans bought into it.
Exactly. My thoughts entirely. Makes you wonder doesn’t it?

Lewis Hamilton is right!
W11 is a tractor compared to NASA powered RB19.Max Verstappen is lucky. Lewis never drove dominant cars like Max did for 2 seasons in a row.#F1 #SaudiArabianGP

Im not one for consipiracies but something aint right. Yes Mercedes dominated but the difference here is they dominated in the era of NO cost cap and even then they never made such a fast car!

Some fans bought into the idea of foul play. However, there were a group of fans, especially from the Max Verstappen army, who felt the need to defend their champion.
Somehow implying that RB are doing something wrong, rather than Mercedes needing some serious soul searching.

Just kinda curious why Hamilton always mentions things like this. In 2014-16, he had a car that was as quick as this. He always complains about the speed of others cars. He even complained about Vettel in 2011 and 2013
This feels so unsportsmanlike, hope it was mistranslation https://t.co/8zWbBiwfN2

The orange army clearly wasn’t happy with how Hamilton communicated his feelings. Although, we are sure Hamilton just couldn’t help but be astonished by the pace of the RB19. Him and many others!
