In recent times, there has been a major conversation around another constructor entering F1. There was talk of Andretti, Porsche, and even Audi in the mix. However, the Andretti interest has cooled down, but Audi and Porsche are taking another step towards entering the sport.

Recent reports have suggested that Porsche and Audi’s parent company Volkswagen have given the green light for them to enter F1.
Audi and Porsche are in!
There have been reports from sources that Volkswagen will make its first foray into the world of F1. However, there is a meeting that will be held next week which will reveal more concrete details about the decision. Although Volkswagen refused to comment on the situation, it was reported by Business Insider.
Previously, there have been reports that the two companies wanted to invest in current F1 teams. Porsche wanted to collaborate with Red Bull and Audi with McLaren. However, both Audi and Porsche denied these claims. Will a new manufacturer enter F1 or will this deal also fizzle out like the Andretti one?
Porsche has already entered Formula-E, the all-electric racing series. Audi also took part in the series but has recently pulled out at the end of 2021. However, Porsche will remain in Formula-E up until at least the 2023/24 season. Fans will wait and watch for more updates on the affair.
How can a team enter into F1?

The new rules state that any new team entering F1 will have to pay existing teams $200M. An easier entry into F1 is to invest in an existing team. It will be interesting to see if both teams enter the sport individually or under an umbrella group by Volkswagen.
There had been previous reports of Porsche joining the sport as a power train supplier. However, once again, it never materialized. Now there is a chance to see 2 of the Automotive world’s biggest names enter the pinnacle of motorsport.
