The Finn led the pack of drivers from start to finish. However, apart from winning the race and bagging twenty-five points, Bottas even won the hearts of the fans in the grandstands.

Valtteri definitely brought his A-game to Istanbul. He was exceptional in the qualifying session on Saturday and managed to slot himself as the second-fastest driver on the timesheet. His teammate, Lewis Hamilton, did get pole position but was going to receive a grid penalty as he changed a part of his engine. Hence, it was Bottas who was going to lead the pack of racers around the Turkish track.
As the checkered flag brought the race to an end, Bottas claimed victory. After the podium ceremony was done and dusted, fans in the grandstands seated at the main straight started cheering for the Finn.

He said, “I think from my side, I have to say, probably one of the best races I’ve had ever. The car has been good in every condition and I had good confidence with it and could really control it.
“It feels awesome. It feels good and I don’t know, almost like a relief that I actually won a race this year. It’s been a while – and it was not an easy race win; with these conditions, we just needed to have full focus, non-stop, and I couldn’t do any mistakes. Actually, the pace I had was really good, so I was confident with the car,” Bottas explained.
