It’s the qualifying day at Monza for the Italian Grand Prix, and like any other quali session, it was full of drama. However, this time the drama was in the pit lane rather than the track, this time between Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, and Aston Martin mechanic.
As Hamilton was in the pit lane heading out onto the track, Vettel was also released, almost hitting the Mercedes driver. However, it didn’t end there, as a mechanic helping Lance Stroll get out into the pits was nearly hit.

However, it could have been worse, as an Aston Martin mechanic was helping Stroll get out of the pits for the second round of qualifying. As of now, there hasn’t been any action taken by either of the drivers, but a review will be done after the session is over.

It’s not the first time a mechanic was caught in the middle
Earlier this season at the Styrian Grand Prix at Red Bull Ring in Austria, Valtteri Bottas nearly took out a McLaren mechanic. Thankfully, the crew member was unharmed, but the Woking-based outfit weren’t pleased with the Mercedes driver.
As the Finn was leaving the pits in Free Practice two session at the Styrian Grand Prix, he spun in the pit straight and slid his way to the McLaren garage almost taking out the mechanic.

Team Principal, Andreas Seidl said, “Obviously a scary moment, but nearly can happen. So all what we could do is help Valtteri to find the right direction by pushing him forward.”
