Farewells are a somber affair. Bidding goodbye to someone close is sad for everyone involved. However, Ferrari did not let Sebastian Vettel shed a tear. After the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the Italian crew huddled up outside his garage with a trophy and the best wishes for him.
Sebastian Vettel drove for 6 long years with Ferrari. Although neither party enjoyed any championship success, they still made extraordinary memories. Memories that each of them would cherish for years to come.

Both may breathe a sigh of relief as the bond was not nurturing. However, neither would get over the wonderful memories of the weekend.
Sebastian Vettel got a wonderful farewell weekend from Ferrari. The team made a unique champions league trophy for the Rhinelander, noting all the podiums he scored with the Maranello-based outfit. With chants and songs to wish him a bright year ahead, Ferrari made Sunday special for Vettel.
“This race is not one I will remember. But what I will remember are the gestures of all the team members, the mechanics, the engineers, the catering guys and so on.
“I think the energy has been different today, and I felt that, and will carry it with me forever,” remarked an emotional Vettel.

Ferrari had picked pace before the F1 circus landed in the Middle East. With Sebastian Vettel securing a podium and Leclerc being very close to one, Ferrari thought of pouncing back. Charles had even managed an impressive qualifying at Sakhir. However, the tale did not end well.
The Abu Dhabi race saw neither of the Ferraris score any points. Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel ended up at P11 and P12, respectively. However, none was expecting anything extraordinary from the SF1000s in a high-speed track such as Yas Marina.
“Unfortunately, there’s not much to say about today’s race, except that it was a disappointing end to a disappointing season.
“We have to turn the page and look to the future, taking on board what we have learned during these very difficult recent months,” remarked Mattia Binotto.

Before Sebastian Vettel leaves the camp, he crafted a special farewell message for the team and his crew. After the season clouded with apprehensions between him and the team, all he could do is thank them for the years past.
“I hope that everyone can have a better season next year. It has been a very tough and tiring one for the obvious reasons. So I hope next year you will see us smile, see us angry and sad, and that it’s not all hidden behind a mask.

“That’s the main wish I have,” concluded Vettel before taking off the scarlet overalls for one last time.
