Sebastian Vettel on Ferrari’s biggest strength

Passion, nostalgia, and history. These are three words that easily sum up Scuderia Ferrari. However, some people also believe Ferrari creates an environment that’s difficult to flourish in. Fans often cite the lack of championships and pressure from one nation as the root cause for Ferrari’s “unhealthy environment”. Coupled with a media that’s as ruthless as they come, Ferrari often resembles a glorious mansion that’s a haunted house on the inside.

Sebastian Vettel himself has experienced this first hand. As long as drivers win, the Tifosi are happy. However, slip up and fail to perform and the same adoring fans are now calling for your head. It’s been 13 years since Ferrari’s last World Championship, something Sebastian Vettel has been chasing for the past 5 years.

Nevertheless, Vettel feels fans often misinterpret Ferrari’s true nature. Speaking to Motorsport.com, the 4 times World Champion said:

“The strength of this team is the passion for Ferrari,”

“I think that’s what thrives people coming in and going out every day. I think it’s really the legend and the myth of this brand

“It’s very Italian inside, has very Italian rules and traditions, which is great, that they are kept. But equally, it’s very modern.

“I think sometimes also this is misunderstood, because you look at Italy to say that they are very traditional with lots of things and ‘la mamma’ and all this, whatever.

Additionally, the German driver is of the opinion that the Maranello outfit has been unlucky over the years. Sadly, the wait for a Ferrari champion still continues.
