Charles Leclerc is one of the best drivers on the grid. He has got 9 pole positions and got won 2 wins to his name, but he has not been able to challenge for wins with Ferrari for quite some time. And the Ferrari driver has mentioned he wishes he could race with Max Verstappen at the front.
While commenting on his desire to race at the front, the Monegasque driver stated Verstappen was ready for the title. He also mentioned that it would be great to see someone other than Hamilton win the championship.

I wish I was up there with Verstappen: Charles Leclerc
As reported by Planetf1, the Monegasque native has mentioned, from what he has seen this year, that he is picking the Red Bull driver to get the title. But he also stated he is focused on himself and his progress more than the title fight.
“I miss racing at the front,” said Leclerc.
“I wish I was up there with Verstappen. He has shown he’s ready to win and is leading the championship. It would be great to see a youngster win the World Championship.
“But I am focused on myself. I want to win, so I don’t really pay attention to others,” said Charles.

Ferrari is Leclerc’s dream even after not winning
Charles Leclerc acknowledges he cannot win the Prancing Horses right now. However, he has still gone on to state he is confident that they will again in the future. He also mentioned that it is his dream to win races with the Italian team in F1.
“I’ve always viewed Ferrari as my dream, even if we aren’t at the level of the other teams in terms of winning,” he added.

“The only thing that makes me dream is winning. We are fighting for positions that don’t give us a lot to dream about, but we are confident for the future.
The team have the right motivation and this will be needed when we are fighting for the championship,” concluded Leclerc.
Ferrari are currently fighting P3 in the championship with McLaren. And they will hope to get to the front of the grid in 2022 with new cars.
