After completely changing their drivers’ lineup for the 2022 season with the arrival of Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou, Alfa Romeo are set for yet another change. But this time, the change is not in the names but of the name.
This is because the Italian team, which we knew as Alfa Romeo Racing until 2021, has now been officially renamed as Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN. For the second time since 2019, the Italian team has changed their name. They went from Sauber Motorsports to Alfa Romeo Racing to now, Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN.
And to announce this, the team posted a short video on Twitter.

Will Valtteri Bottas have a more ‘certain’ future at Alfa Romeo F1?
In a recent interview, Formula 1 legend and Valtteri Bottas’ compatriot, Mika Hakkinen spoke of the changes the former Mercedes driver will have in his new team. And more importantly, how there is more assurance for him now when it comes to a long-term future that wasn’t always the case at the Silver Arrows.
“At Mercedes, with only a year-long contract, while light was always visible at the end of the tunnel, there was always a locked door waiting,” Hakkinen said. “That uncertainty eats away at self-confidence. He did not get the credit he wanted from Mercedes. If the mat is constantly pulled from under your feet, then it will eat your self-confidence.”

“Now Valtteri has the opportunity to drive for a team for the long term where he will be trusted,” he added.
With their new name and their new lineup, Alfa Romeo are ready to make their way up in the midfield in 2022. And the person the team will look up to the most for delivering the results, for leading the charge, will be Valtteri Bottas.
