F1 driver Valtteri Bottas recently responded to a viral tweet comparing his looks to American Curler Matt J. Hamilton. Canada’s official Olympic and Paralympic broadcaster CBC Olympics posted a picture of the two stars, spotting the uncanny resemblance in their looks. Not just Valtteri, fans from across the world reacted to this epic similarly.
As the F1 season is round the corner, Bottas is preparing to don a new outfit at the Alfa Romeo team. The Finnish star left his long-term team Mercedes at the end of the 2021 season, after contributing to the team’s 8th consecutive constructors’ title; Valtteri shared the seat with reigning champion Lewis Hamilton at the Brackley outfit for 5 seasons.
However, in this incident, he was linked to a totally different namesake, Matt Hamilton, Valtteri’s doppelgänger as per many fans. The Olympic curling champion is competing in Beijing for a gold medal once again; he also has long hair and his signature mustache.

In a recent update, CBC Olympics official Twitter handle shared a picture of the two sporting stars. The tweet immediately became a hit amongst the fans and went viral. It read, “Seriously, @ValtteriBottas and @MattJamilton look like long lost brothers.” Till the point of writing this article, the said tweet has received close to 3500 likes and hundreds of replies.
The one which received most traction was from the man himself. So much so that his reply has got more likes than the tweet itself. Bottas took to his Twitter handle to respond to this epic similarity. He cheekily replied, “Bro!”

Way ahead for Valtteri Bottas in F1
After a strong run with Mercedes from 2017 to 2021, Bottas finally decided to take up a new adventure with the Alfa Romeo Racing Team. Even after multiple strong weekends behind him, the Finn could not offer a serious championship claim in his years at Mercedes. Now, he is over the ‘wingman’ status and is the main man in the Swiss team.

Coming from a championship-winning side, Valtteri is a valuable addition to Alfa Romeo. However, one thing is for sure, fans won’t see him gunning for podiums and wins regularly at Alfa Romeo, and Bottas is aware of it as well.
The new season comes with a major overhaul in regulations. And many expect a shift in the power dynamics on the grid at some level.
With plenty of experience and more autonomy, can Valtteri make a major turnaround in 2022? Tell us your predictions in the comments sections below.
