Good luck, @teamgb [Great Britain]”, had been Lewis Hamilton‘s message for his home contingent that was traveling to the Olympics 2024. But the Briton refused to just leave it with a few hopeful words for his country’s elite athletes. So, the 7-time World Champion took the next flight to Paris as he appeared at the Grand Palais on Day 11 of the Olympics to watch them in person.

However, cheering on Great Britain was not the only reason why Lewis Hamilton went to attend the Olympics. Hamilton’s close friend and US fencer Miles Chamley-Watson was up for his Quarter Finale match in Men’s Tin Foil against Egypt. His team passed the round with ease and got into a challenge against Italy in the Semi-Finals. And cheering on Chamley-Watson at the gorgeous Grand Palais was none other than Lewis Hamilton himself. The Mercedes racer graced the front row of the grandstands with the Winter Olympics legend Shaun White and his girlfriend Nina Dobrev as well as the American rapper Snoop Dogg.

Hamilton and Snoop Dogg go way back since the two had partied together at the infamous Playboy Mansion in 2013. And this year, Snoop Dogg has been a regular at the Olympic Games. He had appeared at the Equestrian Dressage with Martha Stewart some days ago. And now, he has once again popped up at the Fencing Competition where he accompanied Lewis Hamilton and Shaun White.

Hamilton had already indicated that he would go to Paris in support of Miles Chamley-Watson. The Mercedes racer had said, “So, I have a really good friend, Miles Chamley-Watson, who’s competing in fencing. We’ve been supporting each other all the time, and we talk pretty much every day. So, I know how hard he’s been working, and I would love to be with him on that.” Now, Lewis Hamilton has delivered on his promise.

Miles Chamley-Watson speaks on Lewis Hamilton’s lasting support for him

As athletes who share the same sphere, Lewis Hamilton and Miles Chamley-Watson have a great bond. When Hamilton had talked about attending the Olympics for the British-American fencer, Chamley-Watson had shared the video on his Instagram, saying, “Besties support each other.” Now, he has also shared how the Silver Arrows driver had given support when he felt anxious in the days leading to the Olympic Games.

So, Miles Chamley-Watson said, “Crying and laughing in front of your best friend is so important. Especially men, talking about everything with each other, those are your friends. Sometimes with my best friend Lewis, he will always push me to just ‘what’s going to happen to you, bruv?’” This shows how Lewis Hamilton is very close to the Olympics semi-finalist fencer and how he has stood behind him despite grappling with a busy F1 schedule.

As the F1 season is on a break for the summer holidays, Lewis could travel to Paris in support of Chamley-Watson. If the fencer does win a medal, how do you think the two “besties” will be celebrating the victory?
