Performing at the highest level with the stakes set as high as possible, it must not be easy to beat the odds. But this is what makes an athlete great. Now that Simone Biles created history at the US Gymnastics Championship, will Lewis Hamilton be able to replicate a similar feat in F1? Especially when they share similar careers and stand united over an iconic 3-word message.

Coincidence isn?t something that is unheard of in the world of sports but is incredibly rare. Simone and Lewis recently shared one, when the African-American gymnast featured the words ?But still I rise? on her attire. These are the same 3 words as Lewis Hamilton?s motto which he posted a photo of on a bracelet moments before Biles featured them. Surprisingly, this isn?t the only thing that the two greats share.?

Lewis Hamilton became the first and is still the only black F1 driver to win the world title. Simone Biles became the first African American woman to win the World Gymnastics championship back in 2013. Just like Hamilton, Biles didn?t have the easiest of childhoods and was adopted by her grandparents as her biological mother suffered drug and alcohol abuse. Hamilton?s parents also split when the Briton was only 2 years old.?

Defying all the odds, both the athletes reached the top of their discipline. Hamilton and Biles have both spoken up about facing racism while growing up and actively worked toward eradicating this evil from the world. Simone Biles recently won her 8th title at the US Gymnastics Championship and broke the 90-year-old record set by Alfred Jochim. This came after she took a two-year break and sought help for ?the twisties?, a kind of mental block faced by gymnasts.

The question now arises: Will Lewis Hamilton be able to replicate similar success in F1? Simone Biles, despite facing the mental block and taking a break, came back with all guns blazing. Will the 7x F1 champ be able to overcome his problems?

Hamilton is set to make a comeback similar to what Biles did

While Lewis Hamilton didn?t face a mental block like Biles, he has had his own issues in the last couple of years. Losing the 2021 title to Max Verstappen the way Hamilton did must?ve taken a toll on the Brit?s mental health. That, combined with the miserable 2022 season and then Angela Cullen leaving his side, hasn?t been the smoothest of sailings for Hamilton. And just like Simone did, the Briton dreams and aims to win his 8th World Championship and set a new world record for the most titles in F1 history.?

But does Hamilton have what it takes? The signs suggest that he does. The 38-year-old is one of the most experienced drivers on the grid and knows how to win a championship. As most pundits suggest, whenever Hamilton takes a fall, he comes back stronger. And he has this season. The pole in Hungary was Hamilton announcing that he was back.?

Coming to the other half of what is required to win a championship is the machinery. Mercedes is easily one of the dream teams for any F1 driver to drive for. The Brackley stable is a championship-winning team and knows exactly what it takes. There?s a reason why they dominated F1 for 8 consecutive years. With suggestions of Hamilton signing a 2-year contract with Mercedes, there?s no doubt that the combination of the Brit and the German team won?t be able to challenge for the title.?

The only question that remains is whether Mercedes will be able to out-develop Red Bull. If they are able to build a competitive car, there?s nobody better than Lewis Hamilton to go out and win the championship.?
