Owing to the devastating floods in Emilia Romagna, F1 called off the race in Imola. Valtteri Bottas was already in Italy for the race but following the announcement flew out of the country. However, seems like Valtteri had prepared his mind for a race and therefore joined his girlfriend for one in Scotland. Much to the surprise of many, the speedster had a humbling experience while Tiffany triumphed.
Ever since moving out of Mercedes, Bottas is living the life of a free bird. Ahead of the start of the 2023 season, he spent a couple of months vacationing in Australia with his girlfriend. Tiffany, who is Australian herself, seems to have taught her Finnish boyfriend the ways of the laid-back Aussie lifestyle. At least going by his mullet and his flip-flops, one can make that assumption.

Being an F1 driver, Valtteri always has to stay in shape. Even during the off-season, he cannot let go completely. While he let himself have some fun during the vacation in Australia, he posted a video of his grueling workout session on Instagram. However, F1 and cycling are very different disciplines. Tiffany, being an Olympic cyclist, won the UCI world series gravel race in women’s discipline in Scotland. Valtteri, however, could only manage a 114th position.

What counts is that he had fun. Covered in mud, he posted a picture of himself with his bike on Instagram and wrote, “Different kind of race weekend.”
“Really enjoyed challenging myself at the 113km UCI world series gravel race. Hero Tiffany Cromwell won the women’s category. Most important we had a great day out.”
Bottas announced his participation shortly after the cancellation of the Imola race. The event was the first UCI Gravel race that took place in the UK and saw a huge turnout of more than 1,000 riders’ participation.

Bottas’ presence made the event a starry affair as even the organizers were caught by surprise. In a touching message, they hailed him for finishing 114th and supporting his girlfriend. Tiffany praised his effort as well albeit with a cheeky joke.

In an Instagram post, she wrote, “Special mention to @valtteribottas who made a last minute trip up to Scotland to join me and pinned on a number as well.”
“He had a pretty strong ride up against a very strong men’s field. Not bad for a part-time cyclist.”
