F1 is back! The sport is returning to action this weekend at the Bahrain Grand Prix to kick-start its 2022 season. There has been a lot of anticipation regarding this season as we will see new regulations and new cars on the track. A major change coming in this season is the teams will have a budget cap of $140 million to work with.
During the first practice session of the season, the sport unveiled new graphics. The new graphics are more stylish and less jarring than previous iterations. F1 journalist will Buxton praised the F1 team for working wonders on the new graphics.

But the fans on Twitter did not share the same sentiment as the F1 journalist. The new graphics did not board well with the fans on Twitter as they termed them as a disaster.
way harder to read the times now they are faded, italic, thinner and smaller. pic.twitter.com/SDQu8SV5vn

The accessibility of them is horrific. As someone who works in digital, if the UX team put forward these ideas, they'd probably be allocated to a different project.

It’s not bad, but not better than the old graphics. Lots of things to make clearer. Overall readability is bad. For example the driver names in the driver tracker. Can you spot SAI? @F1Help pic.twitter.com/aAcMPuBHVI

Nope, it's not just you. They're terrible.
Individual elements are WAY too big, taking up needless room, yet include some information in fonts far too thin so are difficult to read even on a large TV.
I feel like I'm watching through a letterbox.
