The recent catastrophe in Turkey and Syria left the world in a deep state of shock. As the countries known for their rich culture, heritage, and history succumbed to the sudden calamity, people, organizations and nations have all come together to help the people in distress. One such person is Heidi Berger, partner of Red Bull star Daniel Ricciardo and daughter of F1 great Gerhard Berger, who showed her effort to help the cause, something Sebastian Vettel didn’t do.

In a recent development, Berger Jr. has decided to amass financial support for the distressed population in Turkey and Syria. On her official Instagram account that has over 114,000 followers, the Australian arranged for crowdfunding, with a target of $250k. At the time of publishing this article, the target has almost been accomplished.

Berger, who’s a long-time partner of Daniel Ricciardo, arranged the crowdfunding after an instrumental initiative from Karmagawa. Karmagawa is a reputed organization that oversees various kinds of crowdfunding campaigns.

On a separate note, Sebastian Vettel is yet to do this. The man known to be a voice for noble causes hasn’t made any statement regarding this and has received quite a backlash for the same. However, there is a good chance Vettel is already doing the needful without making things public.

Apart from the Australian movie star, multiple renowned names that are well connected to F1 have done something similar to Berger. Carmen Montero Mundt, partner of Mercedes driver George Russell and Kelly Piquet, girlfriend of defending F1 champion Max Verstappen were also the names behind the initiative.

As the news of the destruction and catastrophe reached different parts of the world, multiple renowned personalities and organizations have shown genuine concern over it. From Mercedes to their drivers, everyone joined in to help Turkey and Syria.

Mercedes Benz, the primary owner of the Mercedes AMG F1 team, has announced a one million euros [$1.07 million] donation to the German branch of the Red Cross for assistance to those affected.

Apart from this, the German automobile giants have also decided to open up individual donation campaigns where employees can decide on their donation on their own.
