Retired F1 driver Kimi Raikkonen is a person who talked less on camera, but let his performance do the talking on the track. Known for his no-nonsense approach, the Iceman is also known for his iconic replies. This one time, unfiltered Raikkonen revealed why he couldn’t attend Michael Schumacher’s lifetime achievement ceremony.

Raikkonen arrived as a guest for an episode of Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson. The Finn was with the Lotus F1 team back then. While talking to the F1 driver on the show in 2012, Clarkson touched upon his unapologetic answers to everything.
Clarkson then asked the former Ferrari driver about his famed response from the 2006 Brazilian Grand Prix, he said “I was busy,” a laughing Raikkonen responded.
“Taking a dump,” Clarkson completed his sentence. Soon after, the former F1 driver stated, “I mean, I told the truth.”
Kimi Raikkonen was in Brazil for the 2006 Brazilian Grand Prix. There, Michael Schumacher received a lifetime achievement award from Soccer legend Pele. While everyone was busy with the presentation ceremony, Raikkonen stood near the wall and relished his drinks.

When Martin Brundle noticed this, he went to Raikkonen, who was with McLaren then, and asked if he had missed the presentation by Pele. To which the Finland driver replied, “I was having a sh*t.”

In front of the media, or during the race [on the radio], if there’s one driver who is known for his selected words, it has to be Kimi Raikkonen. The 43-year-old, however, has a reason behind this.

When asked if being Finnish has got to do anything with being economical with words, the Iceman stated, “I think there’s a lot of different people in Finland like they can tell a long way or short way.”
“But for me, it’s easier to say the short way,” conveyed the former Ferrari driver.
