If you think Fernando Alonso is a resurrected beast, don’t put his current team’s DNA past him. The current Aston Martin team has the DNA of the team called Jordan, which launched Michael Schumacher. However, that was the only significant thing it did. While the team has become Aston Martin after an outfit change of half a dozen times, it has never been so close to the top step. However, the newly bestowed power of being the leader of the opposition comes with the responsibility to defend it. But only 6 points ahead of Mercedes, Fernando Alonso, and Co. feel secure as the leader of the opposition amidst the rising Lewis Hamilton threat.
Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc are the only ones who have secured a podium each outside the top two teams. Over the past few years, the race to be the best has only been fought between Red Bull, Ferrari, and Mercedes, but the arrival of Aston Martin has shaken the foundation of Brackely and Maranello. But can the green team defend their second place? Or will Lewis Hamilton and his team put an end to the Silverstone-based outfit’s dreams?
As quoted by the Mirror, the team principal, Mike Krack, said, “We’re not really observing too much what is their situation, where do they come from or what do they do next. We do our thing, we have our plan and it will not change so much if one of the other teams brings upgrades every race.”

“Our plan cannot change because, otherwise, we are always reactive. It is important that you define yourself, put the roadmap in place, define what you need and you follow it, and obviously you need to react left and right depending on how the development goes. But you should not get too much taken away by what the others are doing.”
Krack assured that the team is pushing quite hard, and they are confident about the upcoming races. And while they are ahead of Mercedes and Ferrari, they shouldn’t take their success for granted.

While it has been a great resurrection, Fernando is already bored with it after standing on the third step of the podium four times out of five. However, the boss thinks the team shouldn’t take it for granted.
Krack has urged his driver and the team to not take podiums for granted, even the P3s. He said, “Feet on the ground, you should never take a podium in F1 as normal or as a given. It’s a lot of hard work involved to be on the podium and you have very, very strong competitors in Formula 1, very professional. And if we are not 100 percent in all areas at all times, then there is no podium.”
