Formula 1 drivers usually face interviews several times during a Grand Prix weekend. These are, of course, an important part of a race because it provides an insight from the driver. While the interviews are strictly professional, Lando Norris faced an awkward moment with a reporter after the 2020 Belgian GP.
He finished P7 and gathered 6 vital points for the team. During the race, he had a fierce battle in midfield with Renault’s Esteban Ocon, who was one of Norris’ major competitors. We have seen tempers flare between the drivers during a race, but Norris faced an unprofessional question of his battle with Ocon after the race.

Referring to Ocon, the interviewer said, “That French f**k, was driving dangerous you said” which put Norris in an awkward position and replied, “Woah.” The interviewer added, “Did you speak already to him?” to which Lando replied he had not. He also revealed, “He’s ahead of me, so fair play, can’t say much, can I?”
Ocon ultimately ended P5 while his teammate Ricciardo finished P4. The interview from Dutch channel Ziggo, however, did not go down well with the fans. They have called out the unprofessionalism of the interviewer and expressed their views on Twitter.
Twitter reacts to the unethical question to Lando Norris
After the race, the interviewer apologized to both Norris and Ocon on Twitter. “There was commotion about my question to @LandoNorris about @Ocon Esteban. Both are top athletes and I have never the intention to harm or abuse anybody!! @ZiggoSportsF1 Apologies!!” it read.
Ocon replied, “Apologies accepted mate!” While the dust was settled between the drivers, fans were having none of it. The interview recently popped up on social media, and they blamed the Ziggo reporter for his behavior.

Also I think lando should have reported this and it's not only his responsibility but any driver who witnesses such unprofessional journalism in paddock should report it

It seems like the Dutch people in F1 are very uncouth and unprofessional. Kind of disgusting really.
Idc how much you dislike someone or disapprove of someone, calling them a “French f*^%” shouldn’t be acceptable by any broadcaster. But hey…BrITisH BiAS 🤬 https://t.co/VRvOCmECBB

Some fans also criticized Lando’s reaction, but the others backed him. They felt the interviewer put him in a difficult situation.
Lando is clearly laughing cause of the awkwardness of the situation. Idk why he is being faulted. The real issue here is ziggo and their lack of professionalism as always. I hope they never come back https://t.co/KGFS1B8cPd
