The iconic visual where Valtteri Bottas gives a fist bump while holding a cup of coffee lives in our minds rent-free. While the man is no longer at Mercedes, someone from his old motoring home has come out with another caffeine-laced tale to stun the rumors. CEO and TP of Mercedes, Toto Wolff has rubbished the rumors surrounding his champion Lewis Hamilton being replaced by our Azerbaijan pole man.

Charles Leclerc has been continuously linked to Lewis Hamilton’s seat as the surrounding circumstances at both the teams are aiding it. Both Ferrari and Mercedes are struggling and, resultantly, both the golden boys of the respective teams are being touted to look for greener pastures. Many have openly declared that Leclerc is in fact in conversation with the Silver Arrows. But if the conversation really happened, what was it about? Toto Wolff lets us know.

As quoted by F1Maximaal, Toto said, “I have not had a single conversation with Charles, except that we discussed at the airport whether we are going to Starbucks or not. I don’t know where the rumor comes from and who spreads it.”

Yesterday, Charles Leclerc made a silent gesture of love for his team. After bagging the shock pole he smiled and pointed at the Prancing Horse logo on his suit. Always a Ferrari fan I guess. And counting on the man’s loyalty and love, his TP for the second time, Frederic Vasseur, isn’t worried either.

Fred said, “No, I told you [before] that we will do it in the course of the season,” he insisted. “He’s under contract with us for more than one year [from] now, and we have time to discuss it. And I’m not scared at all, and I think it’s not the right moment to do it.”
