When it comes to Lewis Hamilton in Mercedes, one would believe that he’s the first driver in the team, even though there’s no such hardcore rule to support that. The same goes for Max Verstappen in Red Bull and Lando Norris in McLaren. Whereas, this is quite different in Ferrari as the new team principal Frederic Vasseur is reluctant to put any particular driver on the pedestal against the other one. In this case, neither Charles Leclerc nor Carlos Sainz will have the luxury to be regarded as the key man in the team.
Talking about this, Vasseur told during the presentation of their new SF-23, “It would be a mistake to try to make a comparison between our pilots and the others and between themselves. We have Charles, and I don’t want to make any comparison with Carlos.”

“We have the two of them and we have to work on them, we have to try to help them in their weaknesses, if they have any, understand where they are performing better than their teammate, in order to try to do a better job together,” further stated the Ferrari team principal in a report published by Formula Passion.
Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are on their way to starting their third season together in Ferrari. After Sainz joined from McLaren in 2021, the bromance between the two has fetched them ample love from the Tifosi and they can’t have enough of them.
The team comes before anyone, believes the Ferrari boss
Frederic Vasseur has already mentioned that he isn’t a man to put any driver on the hierarchy. It was never any single driver for him, but a team. Vasseur believes in teamwork and wants Ferrari to win at all costs.

It is believed that the only target the new boss has is to give Ferrari the much-anticipated championship. Anything apart from this doesn’t interest the former Alfa Romeo boss. As per Formula Passion, the 54-year-old boss shared, “Who will win first between Sainz and Leclerc? I don’t care.”
Vasseur went on, “The important thing is to have Ferrari in first place. This is the goal of the whole team. No doubt we will push for both riders equally and see what happens in Bahrain. But the most important thing is to put Ferrari first.”
