Similar to most Formula 1, soccer attracts a lot of celebrities from around the globe. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise when the biggest sporting event in the world saw some familiar faces. However, we did not expect to see a crossover of F1’s anti-hero and UFC’s Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The FIFA World Cup concluded on 18th December with Lionel Messi led Argentina beating France on penalties. Being one of the most thrilling games in the sport’s history, it was an absolute treat for fans all across the globe. Experiencing the game from the stands was Russian former F1 racer Nikita Mazepin, who has had a difficult relationship with the sport.

After the game, everyone headed to their homes from Qatar. And as friends carpool, Nikita Mazepin walked along similar lines with Khabib Nurmagomedov. Nikita Mazepin shared a photo of him with Khabib Nurmagomedov on his Instagram account.
In the photo, the two are sitting on one chair in a private plane heading out of Qatar. Mazepin captioned the photo, “Way back from Qatar with the legend @khabib_nurmagomedov” as he sat with his arm around his countryman.
We are not sure if the former F1 driver, who had a painful split from the sport, was traveling with the Russian UFC star. However, we are sure the two took the flight back home together and Nikita Mazepin could not miss out on the opportunity of getting a picture with the UFC legend.
