It looks like the 2022 championship fight would be between Red Bull and Ferrari. Both teams put on a show in the first qualifying session of the 2022 season as they battled it out for pole position. However, it was the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc that piped Red Bull of Max Verstappen by a tenth of a second.
But Red Bull team principal Christian Horner mentioned that he’s looking forward to the race as it could be close between them and Ferrari. Ahead of the race at night on Sunday, we saw Horner chatting to Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto. The Red Bull team boss would hope that his relationship with the Italian will be better than Toto Wolff in the upcoming season.

“It’s such a big change and [there are] such radical differences between the cars, so I think the race is going to be fascinating tomorrow, to see if these cars can follow closer and we can race closer,” said Horner.

“It’s a little bit of a voyage of discovery because we don’t really know how strong their long-run pace is. We’ve got more to find out about ourselves. We had a decent run yesterday, but it’s only going to be when the lights go out tomorrow that we really see what kind of shape we’re in, and what the [tire] degradation is like,” said the Red Bull team boss.
