The new season of Formula 1 is all set to begin with the free practice 1 on Friday, and drivers are in the process of announcing their customized helmets that are very special to them. Lewis Hamilton is the latest driver to do so. And the Mercedes driver has chosen a fluorescent yellow helmet ahead of the race week.
He took to Twitter to reveal and explain the meaning behind the colors of the helmet. The fans showed their excitement about Hamilton’s helmet on the platform.

Lewis Hamilton reveals the meaning behind the helmet
Lewis Hamilton explained the meaning behind the design and the color of the helmet, which gave fans an insight. The seven-time world champion described he chose the color yellow to go back to his roots in the sport. Hamilton raced with the same color during his go-karting days and in his McLaren days when he won his first World Championship.
He also revealed that his determination is still the same as ever, and the helmet is a sign of it. His tweet read, “For this year’s helmet I wanted to show love to my beginnings. As much as I love purple and black, yellow is my history. I’m going into this season with the same dedication, drive, and passion I had way back in my karting days.”

Earlier, there were rumors that Hamilton would retire from F1 after the controversy in Abu Dhabi. However, he put that to bed when he returned with Mercedes ahead of the new season. He also conveyed that he still has the drive and wants to win his 8th World Championship.

Are Mercedes really struggling?
Mercedes presented a car in Bahrain testing that surprised many. The W13 had no side-pods and rumors suggested it would blow away the competition. However, the Silver Arrows endured a tough start to the season as the car had issues during Bahrain testing.

Lewis Hamilton believes the car is not ready to compete for the race victories. He stated, “I think people will be surprised. It’s a bit different this year. At the moment I don’t think we’ll be competing for wins.”
