Lewis Hamilton has had a tough start to his 2022 season. The 7-time world champion is currently languishing in 5th in the drivers’ championship behind his teammate George Russell. Hamilton is struggling to get the most out of his Mercedes W13 as it is not as competitive as the front-running teams.

Former world champion Mika Häkkinen came out to mention that Lewis might even look to leave the German team soon. He mentioned that according to him, the British driver would be moaning and whining in the team meetings.

“He has been at Mercedes for many years and has won six titles. Now that things are not going so well, he will start thinking about changing teams. It is a tough category for Lewis, that is obvious. Russell has not arrived to be the second driver or to lose. He wants to show his best version and is already working to be a world champion in the future,” said Mika.

Hamilton’s fans on social media did not take too kindly to the former world champion’s comments. The fans on Twitter mentioned the 7- time world champion will work with the team to make them front runners once again.
