Alpine F1 have become the 6th team to unveil their car for the 2021 season. The A521, as the car is called, is the French team’s very first car in Formula 1 racing.
The unveiling took place on the same day as Mercedes decided to launch their 2021 challenger. As a result, one would expect the Silver Arrows to steal the limelight; which to be fair, they did.
However, once the Alpine car was shown to the world, the gorgeous machine caught a ton of eyeballs. The Enstone-based team had already displayed its winter livery, which was black in color.

But as expected, for the actual livery, they shuffled things up to reveal a car in Alpine’s classic dark blue colors with shades of Red and White that symbolize the French national flag. Suffice to say, the world of F1 loved it.

However, there was also a decent amount of criticism doing the rounds. But the people weren’t criticizing the car, they were in fact irritated by Sky Sports’ livestream which had a generous dose of lag to it.
As such, let’s have a look at what the Twitter world served up.

Really feel for the @AlpineF1Team comms team. There's an awful lot of work that will have gone into what was an innovative and clever concept for a socially distanced and modern launch, let down by glitchy tech.

Alpine would want to hit the ground running
The French team used to be Renault in its earlier life and ended the 2020 season in 6th place. They lost a very competitive mid-field battle to McLaren and Racing Point, but they did finish ahead of Ferrari.

This year the battle is expected to be tougher with the Scuderia strengthening their lackluster engine. Will the Enstone-based outfit be able to keep up with the rest? Will their performances be as good as the livery? Or will the car’s pace be as bad as the stream? Only time will tell.
