2021, the year that offered so much to Formula 1 fans, has finally come to an end! Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton turned up the hype amidst their intense F1 title rivalry, while Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc, and Carlos Sainz battled all the way to earn the ‘best of the rest’ tag.

There were also the two absolutely unexpected race victories from Daniel Ricciardo and Esteban Ocon. And to top it all, veterans Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso found their way back onto the podium in Baku and Qatar, respectively.

Hence, 2021 was indeed one of the most fruitful years for the entire racing fraternity; and hoping to witness a repeat in 2022 as well, the F1 community has been buzzing with New Year wishes on social media. Let’s take a look at a few of the tweets from F1 teams, drivers, and journalists.

F1 community welcomes 2022

Sergio Perez posted the heartwarming picture of his son watching him lift the P3 trophy on the podium in Mexico. He further wrote, “Thank you 2021, you were an incredible challenge, and the seed of everything to come. May a year come full of Health for all. Happy New Year!

Pierre Gasly, meanwhile, kept it low-key and wished Happy New Year with a countdown. “3. 2. 1. HAPPY NEW YEAR !!” he wrote. Carlos Sainz posted a picture of himself and his teammate, Leclerc, holding a pit board that read, ‘See you in 2022’.

Former FIA president, Jean Todt, continued to voice out his urge to improve road safety through his latest new year wish. “My best wishes to all for a healthy and joyful New Year. In 2022, let us all work as one to realize a world where mobility and roads are safe for everyone, everywhere,” he wrote.

A lot of F1 teams, including Ferrari, Mercedes, Red Bull, Aston Martin, and AlphaTauri too took to social media to wish their fanbase a happy new year.
