Ralf expressed his opinion saying, “The car (Racing Point) also looks very stable when you see the on-board cameras. That is what Sebastian always criticized about the Ferrari. I can imagine that he gets along much better with the handling of this car.” And based on the complications that Vettel has been facing with Ferrari, Ralf Schumacher might have a point here.
Has Sebastian Vettel Has Made The Right Choice?
One can see the performances of the Racing Point cars this season – backed by the Mercedes engines. By contrast, Ferrari has continued to face similar problems from their 2019 performances. Also, given the token rule system coupled with the coronavirus pandemic, it is tough to see cars completely reinvented. Even otherwise, teams will be looking at the 2022 guidelines as their best chance to rejig the car structure. And if the 2021 cars are no different from the existing 2020 cars, it makes complete sense for Vettel to team up with Aston Martin who offer a ‘better overall package’.

From Ferrari’s perspective, it is a chance to plan ahead for the future with the impending arrival of Carlos Sainz. Overall, both parties would be satisfied with today’s announcement.
