Lewis Hamilton celebrated his seventh championship in style, with a wonderful drive in the Turkish GP. Starting from an unfamiliar P6, he went all the way on his existing set of tires, and won the race.

Following the race, he had mentioned his family’s contribution to his racing career. And how they had all helped him become a better driver and person in life, en route to attaining so much success.

Speaking in an interview, Hamilton opened up about his family and how they are growing together. Especially during a strange and difficult year, which has been hugely affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Lewis Hamilton says things are not always ‘glorious’ with his family

Hamilton is quoted as saying, “We are quite a loving family, but we have our own problems just like every family. Family can be a pain in the arse, you know! You don’t get to choose your family, they’re with you from the start of your life to the end of your life, along the journey.”

“We’ve had our humps, we’ve had our bumps and bruises. We don’t always have the best communication, things aren’t always glorious but we’re always working at it.”

His family have been frequent visitors to races during the weekends, often celebrating Hamilton’s successes together. Hamilton’s father Anthony was even recently seen during his son’s record-breaking 92nd victory in Portimao, during the Portuguese Grand Prix.

“We’ve been growing even through this difficult year, and I think we’ve grown closer. Even though we’re further apart in different countries and stuff, so I think that’s really important for us.” concluded Hamilton on the topic.
