Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc battling the Red Bull champion, Max Verstappen, neck to neck the entire season, eventually secured second place in the drivers’ championship, further helping this team get P2 in the constructors’ championship. Arguably being the lead driver for Ferrari, Charles has been making massive strides in the game.

In a recent interview with ‘L’Équipe’, Leclerc reflects on the successful season he has had with Ferrari and sheds light on his F1 journey so far. Further, into the interview, Leclerc was asked numerous questions about his relationship with Ferrari.

As compared to the Dutch Lion and the seven-time champion, Lewis Hamilton, who are treated like royalty in their respective teams, Leclerc seemed to lead a simpler life. He was questioned if things at Ferrari worked like they do at Red Bull or Mercedes?

The 25-year-old had a very different take on the situation. Leclerc isn’t big on royal treatments and doesn’t expect to be treated like a ‘champion’. Instead, he believes only in focusing on things that are in his control.

In response to the question, if he’d prefer Ferrari to ‘pamper’ him, he said, “Personally, it’s not something I can control, so I prefer to focus on what I can control and that’s my driving.”

As per reports, Mercedes boss, Toto Wolff, believes his car can attract the best drivers to his team, which includes Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc.

Toto Wolff is confident that he can swoop up Charles Leclerc for Mercedes

Charles Leclerc has been catching the attention of many in the F1 world, that includes big guns like Mercedes’ Toto Wolff. Wolff believes that Mercedes’ culture and cars are good enough to swoop up the biggest drivers in the game. Ahead of the 2020 season, he claimed that Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc would be welcome to drive for the Silver Arrows.

However, in regard to moving away from Ferrari, Charles states that he is satisfied winning for them whilst his future decisions seem uncertain.

In a recent interview with ‘L’Équipe’, when asked about his chances to move to Mercedes in 2024, Leclerc said, “2024 is still a long time away and there is still a little time left at Ferrari. This team has always been my dream. My objective for now is to win with Ferrari. Then we’ll see. I am very happy at Ferrari and I want to win with them.”
