Sponsors are probably one of the most important factors for motorsport teams to sustain the heavy costs of building an F1 car. Now with Lewis Hamilton leaving the team for Ferrari, Mercedes will be losing out on two of their clothing sponsors, Puma and Tommy Hilfiger. Back in 2012, Puma decided to join Mercedes as a sponsor, and in 2018, Tommy Hilfiger came through. However, Lewis Hamilton is the brand ambassador for the two outfits, and with him leaving, who will Mercedes work with?
Toto Wolff has not been idle ever since Lewis Hamilton announced that he would be switching teams. Along with finding a new driver for the seat, Wolff was tasked with finding a clothing partner. When it comes to sporting wear, very few brands do it as well as Adidas; however, the brand has been missing from F1 since its last sponsorship with Larrousse. Back in 1994, Adidas decided to move out of the F1 space as the team was sold off. That being said, Wolff has reportedly signed a deal with the brand but its details are yet to unfold.

Adidas recently ended its deal with the German football association, DFB. After this, it’s only obvious that they continue to remain in the realm of sports to be visible to fans. Although Mercedes is no longer one of the top teams in the sport, they still carry a legacy that is extremely commendable. So when Adidas’ rival Puma vacated the spot in Mercedes, the ‘three-stripe’ brand reportedly swooped in.
According to Sportmole, Adidas has speculatively signed a deal worth $11 million with the Silver Arrows to have their branding on the W15. BILD has reported that “From 2025, Adidas will equip the Mercedes Formula 1 team,” despite no news coming in from the alleged sponsor or the F1 team.
Bild also stated, “But according to our information, the deal is fixed. The sports goods manufacturer is said to have already presented the first designs to the team.” From the German news front, both parties are already working together, and if the speculation is true, it won’t be long before the official announcement is made.
Despite Tommy Hilfiger and Mercedes ending their partnership, the two recently collaborated on a new line along with Clarence Ruth. So even if they are to part ways, the two companies are working to have a great last year together. So what is this new collection all about?
Mercedes, Tommy Hilfiger and Clarence Ruth: The Limited-Edition collection
Tommy Hilfiger and Lewis Hamilton have had a close friendship over the years that they have worked with each other. Hamilton is often found rocking Hilfiger designs, and his being a fashion icon too only adds to the bonus. The new collection includes color-blocked varsity jackets, embroidered chino pants, and soccer jerseys with racing numbers, making it a representation of what all three brands are about.

The new collection commends Ruth’s growth since their initial collaboration during the Tommy Hilfiger New Legacy Challenge in 2022. This collection blurs the lines between fashion and motorsport, with Ruth keeping Mercedes’ legacy in mind while designing the outfits.
For this collection, Hilfiger merges his unique interpretation of Tommy Hilfiger’s style with the bold, innovative essence of the Mercedes-AMG F1. That being said, have you ever purchased some Mercedes merch so far? Let us know what you have in your collection in the comments below.
