Lewis Hamilton successfully clinched his 7th-world title at the Turkish Grand Prix. Hamilton equaled Michael Schumacher’s record of most title wins with 4 more races to go this season. Hamilton conjured up a great drive to win the race, starting from P6 under tough conditions.

After the Imola Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton had stated that he might not come back to the grid next season. However, the champion cleared the air at Turkey and clarified that he still has a few more years under his belt.

Hamilton will be out of a contract by the end of 2020, but is widely expected to remain with the Silver Arrows. However, the Briton is not sure about the duration of his subsequent contract. Toto Wolff mentioned that he would like to close a deal by the end of this year.

However, he said, “I think more than likely, we are looking towards the end of the year. Not that we wouldn’t find time for each other, but I don’t want to put ourselves under pressure to say before Bahrain or before Abu Dhabi we will announce a new contract.”

Lewis Hamilton has made his intentions for the future very clear. Hamilton clarified that he would like to get to the contract talks after the season ends.

Hamilton clarified that he focusing on doing his job this season. He said, “I just always think, through the year just that I’ve got a job to do, I’ve got a contract in place, I don’t feel like I should add pressure.”

Toto Wolff also expressed the certainty of a contract with Hamilton at the end of the Turkish GP. He said, “So I see us going for more next year, maybe putting another great year on, and then we have this tremendous challenging regulation change for 2022.”

Lewis Hamilton loves his team, racing and the competition. He has explained his purpose and desire to continue driving in Formula 1. It will be exciting to see whether Hamilton will break the record of most title wins with another Drivers’ Championship next season.
