Who would have thought Brad Pitt would successfully make it into F1? While Michael Andretti is tirelessly trying to get the Andretti F1 team to race in F1, Mr. William Bradley Pitt, under the racing name “Sonny Hayes” has casually walked into the Silverstone paddock and set up his team, APXGP’s garage. If this is the first you are hearing of this, don’t worry. All this is being done for an Apple TV+ production – A movie that revolves around F1. And Toto Wolff has given a detailed insight into the role that Mercedes played in pre-production.

“But here comes Sebastian Vettel!” – This line of commentary by David Croft aka Crofty during the 2018 Belgian GP had gone viral. At Silverstone today, it is going to be Brad Pitt instead of Sebastian Vettel. The Oscar-winning actor is going to take part in the formation lap at the British GP. And he gets to do so without even participating in Qualifying. But you gotta wonder, wouldn’t it be a safety concern if a non-racer is driving right before an actual race with actual racing drivers?

Well, judging by Toto Wolff’s latest comments on the same concerns, it’s all good. When Wolff was approached in the paddock and asked about the movie shooting, he said that Mercedes had an important part to play in the preparation. Pitt was facilitated with official driving lessons by the $2.7 billion worth Brackley team. And like any other driver, he started with F4 cars and rose through the ranks.
