Toto Wolff Revealed Unheard Circumstances of His Patchwork Family After ‘Tough Divorce’ From His Ex-wife of 10 Years

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff is arguably one of the most successful team bosses in history. He has guided the German team to eight consecutive constructor championships from 2014 to 2021. Wolff is successful in his personal life as well. He is married to former F1 driver Susie Wolff for over 10 years.

The couple also shares a child together, a son, who was born in 2017. However, not many people are aware that he was previously married for 10 years to Stephanie and has two other children with her. In an interview, Wolff called his family situation a patchwork and credited both his wife and ex-wife for maintaining the balance.

“I am in the very lucky situation that we are a true ‘ patchwork family’. Susie is the center of pulling that all together–and my former wife Stephanie. Both put the well-being of the kids above their own.

“I’ve been together with Susie now for eight years and my kids have always been a very important part of that relationship. And Stephanie, the mum of my kids, handled it in the same way. Now we spend Christmas and holidays together. And as tough as a divorce is, we all grew,” said Wolff in 2017.

During the pandemic, the couple gave a rare glimpse into their personal lives in an interview with ESPN.

The former F1 driver mentioned it is nice for the pair to find some downtime in the pandemic. She revealed that because of their hectic schedules, it is difficult for them to spend time together as a family.

“We’ve had a lot of quality time together and it’s been really nice to recharge the batteries and actually find a bit of calmness in our lives because we were on such a hectic schedule before of traveling and packing cases all the time and always being on the go,” said Susie.
