It was the year 2013 when Mercedes made a massive makeover to their outfit by bringing in Williams’ executive director, Toto Wolff, to the team. And ever since the Austrian stepped into the Stuttgart-outfit, positive results started pouring into the team from the very next season.

A decade has gone by now, and Wolff stands as the most successful team principal of the hybrid era. He witnessed his team lift seven consecutive constructors’ and drivers’ titles over his stay with them.

What’s more, his success is not restricted to just the on-track performances, as he now owns a part of the entire team alongside INEOS and Daimler.

Hence, it is safe to say that Wolff is starting to create his own legacy in terms of team management. But how far is looking forward to it after retiring altogether?

What did Toto Wolff say?

The Mercedes boss revealed that he gives zero importance to enjoying legacies, as he prefers living in the present and not the past. Furthermore, he opined that a lot of people, who created legacies, have been forgotten by the world as years passed by.

Zero. Zero importance. I live in the now. And I try to be better tomorrow than today. Nobody’s interested in anybody else’s legacy,” he told ‘The High Performance’ podcast.

There are so many people out there that are forgotten once they jump out of the hamster wheel. And you need to just acknowledge that. That’s why today’s important and what somebody else thinks about me has no relevance,” the Austrian investor continued.

Not what’s on the Wikipedia page: Wolff

Wolff revealed that he is hoping his family and friends remember him for his personal contributions to their lives rather than contributions to the “Wikipedia page.”
