Lights went out and away they went for the first and definitely not the last time in the action-packed weekend. The streets of Baku witnessed its first racing action of the weekend with the sprint race behind us. The unsurprising factor of the sprint was Sergio Perez stamping on his “king of street tracks” authority. However, the most surprising aspect of the weekend so far has been the output from Ferrari and specifically Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque built on his first pole of the season with another in the sprint quali. The Ferrari man did lose out his lead to Perez during the Sprint. However, his fans are rallying behind him after an incredible drive and a much-needed positive result.
The fans had to voice their opinion in numbers in the replies to a tweet that revealed Leclerc’s post-sprint race comments. He said, “It confirms a little bit what we thought. The Red Bull still has the upper hand in the race. But we mustn’t forget how far behind we were a couple of races ago, so we did a step forward.”

A step forward would be a massive understatement, as the Monegasque had six championship points after the first three races. With a P2 in the sprint, he has earned seven more.
The leap forward during the race showcased Ferrari is moving in the right direction. In fact, Leclerc was able to defend his lead against the unstoppable Max Verstappen which can be considered a huge step forward.
Fans rally behind Charles Leclerc as the Monegasque gives the Tifosi a rare glimpse of hope against Max Verstappen and Co.
The weekend is far from over. However, Ferrari will celebrate every point, every positive outcome, and every small victory whenever they can, especially after the abysmal start to the season.
This is exactly the fans were quick to showcase their support and rally the Ferrari men to get back to the top.
It was a good drive Charles, don’t downplay it. Bring the upgrades, focus on the race pace and we can give them competition

Great progress regardless. Ferrari is still pushing really hard. We just need to sort out this tire degradation.
