After Ferrari’s 2020 woes, it’s up to Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz to work together and bring the team back to the glory. The F1 community lauded the Spaniard for the culture he helped bring to McLaren’s environment and his relationship with Lando Norris.
At the team’s 2021 launch campaign, Sainz appeared alongside Leclerc and team principal Mattia Binotto in his first official engagement in the red uniform. In the interview, he explained his budding relationship with Charles Leclerc.
“I’ve always had a good relationship with my teammates and the start with Charles is as good as it can be. We are spending a lot of time together we are actually having quite a lot of fun here in Maranello.

“We are pushing the team in very similar directions and working very hard.
“If anything, as Charles said, I’ve never spent nearly as much time as I have with a teammate before the first test or before the first race and I think that is already a positive sign. it’s already a good thing for the team and I am convinced this is gonna bring the team forward,” Sainz stated.

Carlos Sainz expresses his admiration for Leclerc
The Monegasque continued to impress everyone through the troubled times at the Maranello. He finished the season at P8 with 98 points, with 65 points more than his teammate. He also claimed two podium finishes as Sainz shared the impression that Leclerc made on him.

He said, “I have huge respect for Charles for what he did last year and what he did in his first year with Ferrari, in his first year in Formula 1.

“He’s a great benchmark for me that I am going to try and learn from and work together with.”

Sainz has clarified his eventual goal with Ferrari, to win the world championship. However, the journey will not be easy.
