A repeat of Jeddah 2022, this time from further back. This year, the Saudi Arabian qualifying saw a dramatic twist that nobody saw coming. The dominant car and the most dominant driver Max Verstappen are set to start from P15 tomorrow. Post the unexpected end of Max’s qualifying, a happy photo of him from the garage is making the rounds. The man who is known for his ruthless approach to racing and someone who doesn’t cut any slack to the wrongdoer seemed rather jolly. Never seen before “happy” Verstappen after a disastrous run on the track has fans wondering if he is just happy to be close to his rival from last year, Charles Leclerc.

The top two drivers from the 2022 season begin from further back this year as Verstappen had a driveshaft issue and Leclerc is set to take the engine penalty. The duo who competed for the championship last year gave one of the most thrilling on-track battles in 2022 by cleverly using DRS to their advantage. And while the two may not have clear air to fight this year, the possibility of the battle cannot be discounted.

Despite Charles’ crushing defeat at the champion Verstappen, the duo has maintained a healthy relationship. And the ‘inchident’ situation has not happened with them at least post their cutthroat Karting days. The underwhelming performance of Ferrari in Bahrain resulting in Leclerc’s DNF crushed many hopes of seeing another Verstappen and Leclerc dual at least during the 2023 campaign.

Fans were quick to jump on the bandwagon to wonder if Max Verstappen is happy to be next to Charles

Verstappen’s happy reaction leaves fans amused and wondering if he is happy because he is reuniting with last year’s rival Charles. Take a look at the hilarious take of F1 Twitter in the comments below:
