Max Verstappen is perhaps in the form of his life. The World Champion has won four races on the trot and much of his success goes to his skill and his team. However, apart from his team, his family has also played an important role. Verstappen’s mother opened up about the driver and Kelly Piquet’s relationship and how she feels it has brought stability to his racing career.

Max Verstappen is winning on the track as well as off it. His mother believes having Kelly in his life has given him a family-like feeling that he seldom had in his childhood. His mother and dad Jos separated while he was young.

Max continued to live with his father Jos, while his sister was with his mother, Sophie. However, in a recent video, Sophie was all praises for Kelly as she explained how it has helped Max. She said,

“Kelly is of course a bit older. She has a little child. They’ve created some sort of a little family. And I think that Max maybe missed that when he was young. And I also think such stability has helped him in F1, as he knows that someone is waiting for him at home.”

“She (Kelly Piquet) also comes from a racing family, So she understands everything. When you see how sweet she is to her child. But also for his sister and for me, he has his heart in the right place.”

Kelly Piquet was present in the stands as the Red Bull driver won the Dutch GP. She also uploaded pictures with Verstappen’s mother and sister on her social media.

Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen’s title fight went down to the wire last year. Amidst all the drama and chaos, Kelly Piquet was an unfortunate victim of the fiasco. The daughter of Nelson Piquet Jr. shared an Instagram story asking people to leave her alone.

The Brazilian said, “In a world, there is constant hate thrown around for no reason, which as anyone will know -is bound to take its toll. There are now far too many vicious things circulating that are utterly unacceptable. I’d like to remind people that I am still a human being and have my rights.”

She further added, Circulating rumors, photoshopping images, spreading hate, fabricating completely false stories and messaging friends and family will never be acceptable. Please rethink before you write and engage in this. Everything has repercussions.”
