It’s just announced that Lewis Hamilton has extended his stay with Mercedes till the end of the 2023 season. The Knight, who joined the Silver Arrows back in 2013, has had a successful stint with them, winning six drivers’ titles and helping the Brackley-based squad win their seventh constructors’ championship.
Now, when they enter the new era of racing as the 2022 regulation set in, who better to have than Hamilton. The 36-year-old will look to maintain Mercedes’ dominance on the grid and hopefully take his world championship tally to ten!

“I am incurably proud and grateful of how Mercedes has supported me in my drive to improve diversity and equality in the sport. They have held themselves accountable and made important strides in creating a more diverse team and inclusive environment.
“Thank you to all the dedicated and talented individuals at Mercedes whose hard work makes it all possible and the Board for their continued trust in me. We are entering a new era of car but also have a sport that is uniting behind the positive change and I can’t wait to see what else we can achieve together,” he concluded.
Noticeably, he was also wearing a T-shirt that said ‘loyalty.’ Quite subtle, indeed!
