McLaren driver Lando Norris is easily the most in-form driver in F1 right now. He is currently sitting fourth in the driver’s championship with 86 points. He is also the only driver on the grid to finish in the points at every race this season.

However, the Briton doesn’t feel he has achieved everything he wants to; Norris would like to beat his former teammate Carlos Sainz.

Carlos Sainz drove for McLaren for two seasons, from 2019 to 2020. Along with Norris, he was able to guide the Woking outfit to 3rd in the constructor’s championship last year.

We are still good mates, still chat every now and then and make jokes to each other and things like that. We get along and we have done since we were teammates back in ’19.

“Of course, when we are on track there’s probably no one then I want to beat more than Carlos. And probably him for me,” said Norris.

Lando also mentioned that he and McLaren would both like to win against Ferrari and Sainz. “He wants to beat McLaren as well, and we want to beat Ferrari just as much. It is part of the challenge but I still have respect for all the drivers.

“And I still have some mates from the drivers that are raced against, and he is one of them so we might go play some golf (between races).” said Norris.
