The Finnish driver is currently 8th in the driver’s championship, with 40 points. Interestingly, he is just 10 points behind his former teammate in the drivers’ championship. Valtteri credits the positive atmosphere in the team for his results and relaxed nature off the track.
“It’s been a good, good start to the season. I’ve been in a happy place, in a way that I can really try and be the best version of myself and drive the way I want to drive. The atmosphere in the team is so motivating, like the people, how much they’re now trying. It’s really inspiring for me as well,” said Bottas.
“Maybe that pushes you to even more. But yeah, it’s been a good start to the season. There’s more to come, but on a personal level, it’s been good. But it always can be better,” said the Alfa Romeo driver.

Despite starting the race in P12, Bottas finished in the points in Monaco. But the Alfa Romeo car surprisingly did not perform as expected in the slow corners in Monaco. Bottas is hoping that the Alfa Romeo will run well in Baku next week.
“For Baku, I think they’re a little bit more like a normal type of corners. They’re more like 90-degree corners and not that much camber and off-cambers except in the old town. So I hope it’s better,” said the Finnish driver.
