The former McLaren driver has also finished ahead of both the man he’s replacing, Sebastian Vettel, and his future teammate, Charles Leclerc, on multiple occasions.
Sainz had also improved on his third place in the 2019 Brazilian Grand Prix by finishing second at the 2020 Italian Grand Prix at Monza. This result would have no doubt have made a great impression on his future employers, and we will be looking to continue his upward trajectory by winning his maiden race in the Ferrari car in the upcoming season.
