Formula 1 drivers are known to lose their temper from time to time. Be it Lewis Hamilton swearing at his own team or Max Verstappen, man-handling drivers in the paddock. Similarly, McLaren driver Lando Norris describes the moment when he was caught doing an obscene gesture on live TV.

It hasn’t been a good year for Lando Norris and McLaren alike. While the Briton has often out-qualified his teammate Daniel Ricciardo, he hasn’t necessarily had the best car this season. Subsequently, they find themselves P5 in the constructor’s championship, 13 points behind Alpine F1 Team.

Lando Norris has been left frustrated many times this season. The Papaya team driver reminisced about one such incident in a GQ video recently. Norris talked about the time he showed the finger to his McLaren vehicle after a series of unfortunate events in the Austrian GP.

Norris said, “There was actually a video of me. It was in the Austrian GP where I was getting extremely angry with the car. [I] Gave it the middle finger. It was actually on live TV. I didn’t know I was on live TV.”

Alpine Director claims their team has “rattled” Lando Norris

Alpine has impressed many this season. Esteban Ocon’s resilient display against Lewis Hamilton and his Mercedes showed a glimpse of just how good they’ve been. Alpine Sporting Director said, “Lando loves to keep quoting that, doesn’t he? But we only need to just be ahead. I’m not quite sure why he keeps on: I guess we’ve got him rattled.”

He further added, “We’re much more focused on Mercedes and trying to beat Mercedes. We’re trying to get ourselves onto that sort of level.”

Permane’s comments come after Norris said that Alpine must have done a lot worse than McLaren after the Japanese GP. He took a subtle dig at the French constructors, which clearly didn’t go down well with their director.
